A "must see" when visiting Columbus, Nebraska is the Andrew Jackson Higgins
National Memorial.  Higgins, who was a native of Columbus, was the inventor
of the LCVP: Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel, a.k.a. the "Higgins Boat"
which was used extensively to put military personnel onto beaches all over
the world.  The Memorial is right across the street from the conference hotel.

Dear Companions and Sir Knights,

This past weekend, Brookings added 3 new Companions and Sir Knights to our membership.  They are Companions Bruce Bleakley, Jeffrey Clapper and Jim Schultz
We had a great weekend with a total of 9 new York Rite members joining us.  There were 3 from Vermillion, 3 from Sioux Falls, and 3 from Brookings. Companions from Brookings who assisted in the Degree Work were: Glen Nachtigal, Clayton Sloat, Dean Christie, Larry Holmes, and Doug McFarland.  We also had a very good showing of Grand York Rite Officers assisting in the work.

Below are pictures of the entire group of 9 new members and pictures of the 3 new members of Brookings York Rite.
